My name is Bri Kappers and I am so excited to be teaching Language Arts this year at Riverview Middle School. I am originally from Roseville, MN, which is a suburb of the Twin Cities. My childhood home is located 10 minutes from downtown St. Paul and 12 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Being in this part of Wisconsin is a welcome change from city life!
I graduated from Northland College in Ashland, WI in 2007 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Language Arts. Since that time, I have worked as a nanny, a camp counselor, an autism behavioral therapist, and a teacher of many grade levels. I also recently completed my Masters Degree in education through UW-Green Bay in May of 2017.
When I'm not at school, I love to be at home with my husband, Jerrod, my daughter, Paige, and my dog, Aussie. In my spare time I love to read, swim, go camping, and go downhill skiing in the winter. The picture to the left was taken in the Beartooth Mountains on the border of Montana and Wyoming. It is one of my favorite places in the world! When I was in high school I went on a 28 day backpacking trip with some friends through those mountains. It was such an amazing experience!
